Follow me on this one:
If you believe that Jesus is who he said he is, then it’s important to understand that Jesus said that he was also Yahweh. His spirit was not created.
His spirit IS the Creator, whose intention is to be at the center of your and my life.
His body was created on earth specifically for you and me.
His spirit descended to earth nearly 2000 years ago and was sent to us for one major purpose:
To Reveal A New Covenant From Yahweh
Now, I get that there are a million different interpretations and opinions on what Jesus said and the historical facts regarding his life. But there is a solid foundation to the basic facts regarding his recorded words and beliefs.
Jesus clearly believed in the Triune God article here: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He very much believed that the Triune God is the single God of creation in three persons.
While I know that it’s tricky to site single verses from the bible because they can be pulled out of context, I believe that some of the sayings from Jesus clearly can stand alone. One of those sayings is from John 8:58 – 59:
x</font color>
58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
x</font color>
This was during a conversation with the Pharisees and other Jews that were having trouble swallowing what he was saying.
With this answer, Jesus just told them, plain as day, that he was the Creator Yahweh (‘I Am’ is what Yahweh originally told Moses when Moses asked his name).
x</font color>
Yahweh’s Plan
Let’s draw some distinctions and see Yahweh’s plan in action. From what we know and read, the Creator Yahweh didn’t live on the earth but came and made appearances. It became known as the Shekinah-glory (external link).
In the times before Jesus, the times written about in the Old Testament (the Old Covenant), God made appearances such as a Pillar of Fire and Cloud and in an ordinary tent called the tabernacle.
In the times of Jesus, the glory of God was the spirit of life within Jesus.
This person, fully man and fully Yahweh, told us that he would send us the other person of God, the Holy Spirit to be forever available to believers.
But only if Jesus were to go away, he said. And he did go away. Now, the Shekinah-glory, in the form of the Holy Spirit, is available so we can draw strength for living…and MORE. Jesus encourages in Matthew 17:20:
x</font color>
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
x</font color>
Hmmm…time to invite the Holy Spirit to help rule my life every day!
Right?!!

Jesus Came for Five Reasons
So we have the Creator God Yahweh, who is separate from the earth. He has shown us the first example of boundaries by showing and telling us who he is and how we are to respect him.
This boundary lesson then leads us to how we regard ourselves and others.
Jesus, a part of the Triune God, came to the earth, fully human and full of the spirit of Yahweh.
x</font color>
He came for five reasons:
- to be the once-for-all sacrifice for the sins of the world
- He came so that those who would believe in him would be re-united with God forever.
- Jesus came so that as a result of his human death we would have help navigating this broken world with the help of the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus taught us how to regard God and each other in this new era. Boundaries with a plan.
- He rose from the grave to prove that he is Yahweh and to show us that we will one day also rise.
x</font color>
He gave us a New Pledge between us and Yahweh. A covenant marked by his body and his blood. He promises us these five things while the old covenant passes away.
Yet, he didn’t come to abolish the law. It’s all so interesting, and deserves a closer read. Matthew 5:17 says:
x</font color>
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
x</font color>
It’s all fascinating and very cohesive. But don’t feel like you have to embrace all the details. That’s not required, and that’s not my point. Just receive the understanding that Yahweh sacrificed his human self, specifically for us.

Summary of the Five Reasons
1. Read chapter 10:1-18 of Hebrews external link to get an excellent and short summary of why Jesus is the once and for all sacrifice! Yahweh did this of his own accord. He reached out to us!
It has nothing to do with what we have done or will do, it’s what Yahweh has done!!
2. Jesus has said that our ability to re-unite with God doesn’t matter what church we go to or what clothes we wear, that the re-unification with Yahweh is completely a matter of faith.
Believe in him today. It doesn’t mean that you’ll need to change your political affiliation! 🙂
x</font color>
In Matthew chapter 11, he told us to come to him and lay all of our burdens of life before him.
x</font color>
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

x</font color>
3. The Holy Spirit is here to believers now and forever to help guide us and to help get to know and walk with Yahweh more intimately. Trust him, and live in hope!
x</font color>
4. We have been given the ultimate balancing act article here:
Love the Lord God with all of our heart and strength AND love our neighbor AS we do love ourselves. THIS is how Jesus taught us to regard the Father and our fellow life-travelers.
If we are loving God the Father with all of our might AND we are pursuing how to elevate the love of our neighbor by continually asking, then we’re on the right track.
AND when we apply the same fervor to love ourselves, we find the perfect balancing act of our life expression!
This ultimate balancing act is the basis for how to live life to the full.
x</font color>
5. We have the hope, as heirs with Christ. We, too, have been promised to be glorifed. In Philippians 3:
x</font color>
28 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

The Original Covenant is also known as the Mosaic Covenant external link (linked to a very excellent article that explains this covenant and how it foreshadows the updated covenant of Christ).
This covenant was a very specific promise from God to the Jewish people that if they followed all of the laws, they would receive specific blessings.
The New Agreement brought by Jesus tells us that we are saved by faith in him alone and that we find freedom from the original written law of the first covenant.
In the book of Hebrews chapter 8, the writer recalls earlier testimony about these days from the book of Jeremiah:
x</font color>
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.
8 For he finds fault with them when he says:c]”>[c]
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah,
9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers
on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt.
For they did not continue in my covenant,
and so I showed no concern for them, declares the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws into their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.

The book of Hebrews really explains this well. Read and absorb the above five reasons and learn about this new agreement between Yahweh and you.
Discover how you can live life and have it to the full.
